A ten-day Thiruvizha (or Mahotsavam) is a vibrant and spiritually uplifting celebration dedicated to Lord Shiva, bringing devotees together in devotion, ritual, and cultural festivities. The festival begins with the auspicious flag hoisting ceremony, marking the formal commencement and inviting divine blessings for the days ahead.

Each day is filled with special poojas, abhishekams, devotional music, and processions that create an atmosphere of reverence and joy. The energy builds toward the grand finale, with the chariot festival (Rathotsavam) on the ninth day, where the deity is taken in a majestic procession, allowing devotees to receive blessings.

The tenth day features the sacred holy water festival (Theertham), symbolizing purification and renewal. The Mahotsavam concludes with the flag lowering ceremony, signifying the completion of the celebrations and leaving devotees with a sense of peace, fulfillment, and divine grace.
